Unsubscribes & suppression
Give recipients a way to opt out and prevent suppressed addresses from receiving future messages.
1 min read
Suppression is the workspace-wide list of addresses ColdMerge will not email. Addresses are added when a recipient unsubscribes, when you mark someone as opted out after a reply, when you add an address, or when you suppress contacts from the Contacts screen.
The unsubscribe footer and the one-click unsubscribe header are both optional and start off. You are responsible for including an opt-out and a postal address where the law requires them.
Common tasks
Section titled “Common tasks”- Add an unsubscribe footer or header
- Mark someone as opted out
- Manage the suppression list
- Understand how unsubscribes work
- Choose between deleting and erasing a contact
Find the suppression list under Contacts, then Suppression. Find the postal address and the header switch under Settings, then Sending defaults. Each campaign’s footer is set on the campaign itself.
Notification preferences control the messages ColdMerge sends to you. They do not affect prospect suppression. See Notifications.
