Contacts, lists & imports

How do I work with lists?

Create a list, add or remove contacts, archive it, or delete it.

A list is a named group of contacts. Campaigns send to lists. Open Contacts, then Lists.

  1. Select New list.
  2. Enter a Name.
  3. Add a Description (optional) if it helps.
  4. Select Create list.

List names are unique. If the name exists, ColdMerge offers to open that list.

From a list:

  1. Select Add contacts.
  2. Search by email address.
  3. Tick the contacts.
  4. Select Add N to list.

Use Import into this list for a file. The import wizard opens with the destination already selected.

  1. Open the list.
  2. Find the person in On this list.
  3. Select Remove.
  4. Select Take them off.

The contact stays in All contacts and on other lists. Removing them does not cancel a campaign that already queued them.

Status Meaning
No contacts The list is empty
Not verified No fresh, decisive verdicts
Partly verified Only part of the list has a fresh result
Healthy Most checked addresses came back alive
Unhealthy Too many checked addresses came back dead or risky
Verifying… A check is running

The percentage beside the status is the share with a fresh decisive result. Open the status for Alive, Risky, Dead, No answer, and Unverified counts.

Verify appears when the list has no fresh decisive results. It opens a quote before spending credits. Archived lists show health but cannot start a check.

Keep enrolling new people added to this list is on by default for a campaign. It adds later list members while the campaign is Scheduled, Sending, or Paused. It does not add them in Draft, Review, Completed, or Cancelled.

Auto-sync only adds. Removing a contact from the list or turning Auto-sync off does not remove anyone already in the campaign.

  1. Open the list.
  2. Select Archive this list.

Archived lists disappear from pickers and accept no new contacts. Choose Show archived lists to find one, then Bring back into use to restore it.

  1. Open the list.
  2. Select Delete list.
  3. Confirm.

Deleting removes the grouping, not its contacts or campaign history. Archive a list you may need again. Delete one that was created by mistake.
